The St Giles' Tour

 North Porch
Return to the St Giles' Tour
Picture
The North Porch was another addition to the original design. Though less elaborate than the one on the south side, it has an arch-vaulted stone roof carved with quatrefoils.
It also contains the only nineteenth-century memorial inside the church - a simple brass commemorating Thomas Roddis, the sculptor responsible for most of the ornamental stone-carving at St. Giles. He died in 1845.
